How did social networking sites like facebook, myspace become popular so fast?
what kind of marketing do they use? It's not like they have a certain niche they're selling that could use good SEO. is it mostly thru press release? word of mouth? i don't see any advertising or ad banner for these sites either. where are their referral traffic come from?
How can I get a hold of people with large social networking groups or network marketing lists?
My company is looking to find some people who have a large following on twitter, myspace, linkedin, etc. or someone who has a large e mail list. Part of my job now is seeking them out. We're looking to start a new mlm and give some people with exposure a chance to be at the top right off the bat. I've found a few doing whois searches on network marketing forums and I've been trying to get through the ring of customer service people to get to an owner, but that hasn't helped much so far. Craigslist hasn't done it. People with large facebook followings never respond to their messages. Any other ideas?
What jobs can I get with social networking skills?
I'm an intern with a nonprofit and my current job description includes quite a lot of things, but recently my job has centered around marketing on social networking sites. I currently manage their Twitter accounts and their profile correspondence on a website for people to review nonprofits, and will be also managing their Facebook page very soon. I'm also in the process of learning about search engine optimization, which isn't quite the same thing, but seems somewhat related, at least. I've discovered that I enjoy doing those things, and I know that the skills are in demand to some extent, since so many companies have pages on those and other social networking sites these days. I also know this is a relatively new area for business, so jobs in it might not be very well defined. But is there an established job title that describes someone who manages content and correspondence on those kind of sites, or jobs that use that skill set frequently? How much does someone get paid for that kind of work? Any insight is useful, and particularly if you are or know someone who does that for a living, I'd like to know how it works in the context of a more defined job position. Thanks
What would you pay a social network consultant?
I was wondering after researching the cost of social networking consultants, what would a business be more understanding to pay. On the high end i've seen 170k yr. low end 60k yr. is that a good price range or would more sign up if it was 30 40k yr
